Trails End Ranch Welcomes Ster Friesian Hylke as a new member of our family! We are thrilled to have him here on our farm. Emily has been kind of lost since Keegan is off on his own adventures & Willow is not yet old enough to ride. Hylke will help fill that void. He will be used in trail, parade, carriage, and possibly even expos. You will be seeing Hylke out & about with the IFHA & other events. Hylke has a very interesting and quite impressive history. Before being imported in 2000 Hylke was hand chosen and owned by the Queen of Holland, Queen Beatrix, to be part of her 8-horse Friesian team that pulls her Golden Carriage. Unfortunately Hylke did not get tall enough to match up with the other horses so he went on to do other things, like making it to the final round of the stallion testing before it was decided that he just didn't quite make that top 1% they are looking for in breeding stallions. He then proceeded to become a Premier Champion driving horse; a 7-time World Driving Champion & a Champion Sjees Driving Horse in his home town of Friesland. Hylke was also the featured driving horse at the 2000 Friesian Extravaganza evening performance in Reno, NV! Oh & he also knows a few tricks. Hylke is sweet, kind, and has a heart of gold. Hylke is sired by the great Olof & his dams sire is Wessel. Hylke will be an excellent ambassador of the Friesian breed throughout the state of IN!
